Royal Pearls International development (RAPID) INITIATIVE is a sustainability non-profit organization working with investors and companies to build leadership and drive solutions throughout Nigeria’s economy. Through powerful networks and advocacy, RAPID INITIATIVE will tackle the Africa’s biggest sustainability challenges – Nigeria in particular; including poverty, illiteracy, health delivery, water scarcity, flooding, pollution and human rights abuses (women and children).

What We Do

RAPID Initiative has defined a comprehensive approach for all our programs: to tackle the underlying causes of poverty, poor health delivery and social injustice to bring lasting change to the lives of poor and vulnerable people. The focus of our actions is determined from analyzing the underlying causes of poverty and drivers of change at all levels, to help us to identify the most impactful courses of action in line with RAPID Initiative’s vision and expertise, alongside our partners and allies. RAPID Initiative prioritizes three ways of addressing the main underlying causes of poverty, poor health delivery and social injustice that we encounter all around the world: gender inequality; poor governance and unequal power relations; and humanitarian crises. We address these underlying causes of poverty, poor health delivery and social injustice by strengthening gender equality, promoting inclusive governance, improving basic health delivery and increasing resilience.


A new report by The World Poverty Clock has shown Nigeria as a country with the most extreme poor people in the world. The 86.9 million Nigerians now living in extreme poverty represents nearly 50% of its estimated 180 million population. As Nigeria faces a major population boom—it will become the world’s third largest country by 2050—it is a problem will likely worsen.
